Convenience. Convenience. Convenience.

Clubhouse, the app that went viral for a while.

That’s the secret sauce. That’s the holy grail.

That’s the reason behind Clubhouse’s massive success. Don’t believe me? Just ask the nearly 2 million weekly active users on the platform.

Let me explain.

CH essentially lowered the barrier of entry to the point of virtually nothing. You don’t need to have make up on, no need for swanky suits, forget the drama, no need for high bandwidth and strong internet connection for streaming videos live. You just need the app and a voice, and you are already born with the latter.

It does help to have an incredibly smooth user interface and onboarding experience.

Which brings us to the next crucial ingredient: Referrals.

The entire user acquisition is predicated on members inviting people! It is elegant, almost sensually brilliant. Referrals work because you want others on the CH community to hear you speak, and you will only invite friends who have the highest chance of accepting (created social scarcity by introducing a 2 invite cap!) and in turn invite more friends and the virtuous cycle ensues organically!

They have outsourced customer acquisition to the users.

I want to know who did the social engineering and how much of understanding the customer psyche went into the process!
