Donald Trump’s tariff game is a masterful negotiation technique.
Seven years later, and here we are again — Trump is back, and so are his tariffs.
It’s like a rerun of a TV show that nobody asked for, except this time, the stakes are even higher.
Since January 2025, the White House has been slapping tariffs left and right, targeting China, Mexico, Canada, and whoever else is unlucky enough to be in the crosshairs.
The rationale?
Strengthening American industry, reducing trade deficits, and keeping foreign competitors in check.
The reality?
It’s a little more complicated than that.
The tariffs seem to almost come out of nowhere and surprised everyone.
China, unsurprisingly, took the biggest hit.
Trump hit them with a 20% tariff across the board and additional tariffs on EVs (100%), semiconductors (50%), and batteries (25%).
Because, you know, if you’re going to start a trade war, you might as well go all in.
