Don’t lose faith in startups.

Steve Jobs founded Apple in 1976 and literally changed the world there after.

If you don’t believe in startups, you don’t believe in innovation.

And if you don’t believe in innovation, you will not have a place in progress tomorrow.

Everything that we see and hear about in the realm of successful business, stems from people creating.

Creating, building, constructing, devising, doing things to make manifest what others cannot perceive or simply do not want.

To stand for what they believe in, even in the face of criticism and laughter.

To do more than just sit idly by.

To be willing to go into the trenches and get their hands dirty.

To build solutions for problems worth solving.

They are the ones willing to risk everything, for something better tomorrow.

It is more than the billion-dollar valuation, the hippie co-working studios and the flashy headlines.

It is the simple notion that they want to effect change.

It is a mindset that many sought for, but few ever truly adopts.

Sure, startups have taken many forms over the decades.

Not all are glamorous, some fall flat, others are downright scams.

We have become desensitised to startups.

Sure for every Steve Jobs and Brian Chesky, we would get a Elizabeth Holmes and Domm Holland.

Domm Holland burned through more than $165 million in venture capital funds only for his business to collapse.

But don’t let the few black sheeps tarnish the whole pack.

Startups are hope.

They stand for truth.

Everyday, startups are standing up and fighting for something they believe in despite the odds and hardships.

Pure and simple.

Startups are the atoms that make up everything we see today.

Everything we have comes from someone, somewhere, starting up something from scratch.

Even the biggest corporates today traced their beginnings from tiny startups decades ago.

All the best tools and technology we enjoy using today originates from startup ideas.

We only have that delicious bowl of ippudo because decades ago in Japan, the owner decided to startup his own ramen stall.

We only have FaceBook because Mark decided to startup a “hot-or-not” clone to rank friends.

Mark Zuckerberg in 2005, talking about FaceBook long before it became a multi-billion dollar unicorn.

We only have Uber because Travis was sick of hailing cabs by the streets and wanted VIP treatment for going places.

Problems don’t solve themselves.

Startups solves problems (at least the good ones).

We should always be nurturing and encouraging startups.

Don’t lose faith in startups.
