Did you realize Tesla hasn’t actually delivered any of the cars it promised in the past few years?
The Roadster (2nd Gen)
The Tesla Semi
The Cybertruck
The Cyberquad
The Roadster (SpaceX Package)
In that same period, Tesla’s valuation has gone from under $100B to nearly $600B (approximately)!
Thank about it for a second. How rad is that!
You have a company promising and coming up with concepts all the time, with Elon as the best Hypeman ever, pumping up the excitement, anticipation and allure.
However, all you get are just updates, never the actual vehicles that captivated millions.
I find that absolutely astonishing.
No, not the ability to develop mind-bending, sexy concepts (although it is pretty cool).
But the marketing and branding abilities of Elon and Tesla.
So a huge takeaway from this is:
Learn to read the market, understand your users, know what they love and double-down on it, hard.
People won’t pay an extra dollar for guac at subway but will throw down $100 pre-orders for the Cybertruck!
I am quite certain the hundreds of millions they gotten from pre-orders probably went into developing the back orders of older Tesla models that were pre-sold before. Hence they probably had to keep coming up with concepts, do pre-sales to get the dough to fulfill the back orders.
The cycle repeats.
Who cares! Tesla stock keeps rising, brand keeps getting stronger and the concepts are getting way cooler! =)
