Ok kids, for the ones born after the year 2000, you probably never heard of Mike Tyson.
The vicious and deadly heavyweight champion boxer who knocks out other bigger opponents for a living.
He once said “My defense is impregnable. And i’m just ferocious i want your heart i want to eat his children…”
That was to Lennox Lewis, one of his opponent back in the days.
He has clubbed and destroyed foes way taller and larger, with longer arm span and experience.
You may have seen his training clips of his younger days circulating on the web.
He ducks, dips and dodges like greased lightning, while dishing out absolute nuclear bombs with his fists.
It is truly terrifying.
I really don’t know why anyone would still bother fighting him after seeing those training clips.
Even the modern day clips of an older Mike Tyson shadow boxing for fun was scary.
He still has that killer instinct and that audacious blows, even for someone his age.
He was ferocious.
So ferocious in fact, he actually bit off a chunk of his opponent’s ear once.
No lie.
“25 years after being disqualified from a WBA Heavyweight Championship title fight for biting Evander Holyfield’s ear, Mike Tyson has decided to honour his former opponent by slinging weed gummies in the shape of ears.”
Since that memorable day, Mike has been up to all sorts of good things.
Having his own podcast, getting in the ring for exhibition fights, guest appearing on talk shows and movies like the Hangover.
And now, weed gummies.
It is a comedy and nostalgia for the new generation who may never have heard of the legendary boxer.
It also shows that people can and do change.
I will always remember Mike for the short interview where he has just won his heavyweight title and met Muhammad Ali.
Sitting right next to Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson was asked if he would’ve won in a fight against Ali in his prime.
Mike said “I’m vain — I know i’m great, but in this situation every head must bow, every tongue must confess, this is the greatest of all time”.
Got to love Mike and his tremendous respect for Ali.
