My hair hasn’t changed, I did.

Me with Michael Blakey at SWSG2018, FaceBook HQ in Singapore for the Post-event Special Reunion.

Take a look at my hairstyle. What is this style called?

This photo was taken in Dec 2018.

3 years have passed since then.

People recognize my hair from afar, before they even see my face.

I just realized my hair hasn’t changed in years.

But I did.

After so many innovation programs, corporate venture building, ideations and hackathons, I have leveled up.

I went from event organizer to community builder.

I went from talking about ideas, to helping corporates actually build ventures.

I went from helping founders locally, to empowering founders globally.

Community building runs in my blood.

Sun Wukong was born out of a magical boulder.

I was born out of a hackathon.

It will be my life’s goal to inspire and encourage everyone out there to step out of their comfort zone and start doing what they love most.

Don’t mistake passion for interest.

You can be interested in the Squid Game because its trending and everyone is talking about it.

You can be interested about NFTs because you read about how some made $69m selling digital art.

You can be interested about running until your knee hurts and you abandon it altogether.

Passion is different.

Passion is deep rooted within you.

It is something you are compelled to do day in and day out.

It’s not something you will forget or lose interest over time.

Over time, passion will only get stronger.

Passion is something you can’t stop thinking about, even if you tried.

It will haunt you long after you are done with it.

If you are truly passionate about running, you will do the physiotherapy, get back stronger and start running again.

Nothing should stand between you and your passion.

If there are obstacles, you will find a way around it.

You will always find a reason to do it and go one more, not an excuse to give up.

Not everyone will find their true passion in life.

That is the unfortunate thing.

But we should always keep trying.

No matter what.

Let’s take receipts in 10 years time to see where we go shall we?
