[Part 2 of 3] Louis Vuitton entered the Matrix

Louis Vuitton entered the Matrix

Yup, Louis Vuitton entered the Matrix.

Rather, I meant they created Louis the Game.

It is basically a virtual game where you, as Vivienne, get to explore and collect NFTs, while immersing in the fantasy world LV created.

It is bold, beautiful and brilliant.

Here are some reasons why I think LV did it.

Reason #1

You jump on the trend train, intelligently.

Such a bold move gets people talking.

LV, the age-old luxury brand from old France has a hip, new video game?

The game is more than a game.

It serves as a milestone for LV and frankly for the industry.

How many luxury brands out there take NFTs seriously?

Sure, they talk about it, some had a few drops, but who went as far and as creatively as LV did?

Louis the Game will bring the players into the world of LV.

It will teach them about LV’s unique history, celebrating its founder’s 200th birthday and start seeding its brand awareness in the younger generation for years to come.

This is not a flash in a bang, hopefully.

If done right, this could be their long-tail strategy to reinforce and build up an audience base far beyond their current one.

Reason #2

You open up to a whole new audience.

You are exposing yourself to a new crowd which means more eyeballs, more buzz and more wallets.

Sure, the kids and teens playing the game won’t be able to afford LV bags anytime soon.

But these kids grow up.

And in between then and now, they add to the hype, brand awareness and views.

They give value to your brand and adds to the social currency.

And opening up to audience is not just limited to B2C.

We are talking B2B too.

Other brands may want in.

Partnering up to do more amazing things with LV in the virtual world.

Celebrities, artists, fashion designers, musicians and more could do some awesome collaborations that would otherwise be impossible for LV in the real world.

Who knows, maybe they can have a mega concert carnival with Travis Scott singing virtually on stage, with their latest fashion collection displayed beside him.

People can enjoy the music, vibe along and perhaps purchase any of the items they see on stage.

Browse and buy it in the virtual world, get it delivered to your doorstep.

Voila!

Talk about virtual luxury shopping.

Oh and it is only accessible to people who already own LV bags or played the game and collected all the NFTs.

LV, if you see this, let’s talk. =)

Do you think NFTs have a good future in the world of Fashion?

See part 3 for my final thoughts on Lv’s bold move into the metaverse.
