[Part 2 or 3] What can we learn from the Highest Grossing Movies of all time
<Go see my earlier posts for the complete list of the Top 20 highest grossing movies of all time.>
If this was a video game, The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is the ultimate boss.
With more than 26 titles, they have grossed over $23 billion.
You know what is cooler?
They only spent a total of $5 billion on the 26 titles.
That is a whopping 4.6x returns.
With Kevin Feige at the helm and Phase 4 going wild at the box office, looks like this cash train isn’t slowing down at all.
Endgame was obviously a major winner at $2.797 billion, and my hunch is that it will surpass Avatar in due time.
My guess is that Black Panther II will break some records too, given its amazing fandom and the legacy left behind by Chadwick Boseman.
The ones I am looking forward to in Phase 4 are Thor: Love and Thunder and GOTG Vol.3
I have always been a huge fan of GOTG, because there were dashes of intergalactic travels, space aliens, awesome tech, cyberpunk elements and Yondu (he is gone though, or is he?).
Oh and in case you were wondering, the Fast and Furious franchise is up to F9 now and it is worth around $6.29 billion in total.
Now you know why they simply can’t stop making another episode?
The first few were forgettable.
Then there was Fast & Furious, where Gal Gadot joined, which was really where the action begins.
Fast Five came along and Dwayne Johnson joined the party, really giving it some life at last.
Fast & Furious 6 still had Paul Walker but really, The Rock carried the show most of the way.
Furious 7 introduced Jason Statham as a villain and it was Paul Walker’s final film.
The Fate of the Furious gave us Charlize Theron and more bombs, explosions and crazy car chases.
F9 had everything, and I mean everything.
Exploding trucks, cars entering space, satellite tech, car races, covert ops, spies, lies, everything.
Oh and the return of Han, who supposedly died eons ago.
Scriptwriters really went bananas on this franchise.
They have literally taken the rule book, burnt it, mixed it in hot chocolate and ingested it.
In the Fast and Furious franchise, people can return from the dead, cars are completely expendable, timelines don’t really matter, Vin Diesel is indestructible, the world is ALWAYS in danger of total cataclysm, physics is irrelevant and logic is whatever you want it to be.
But it brings in the moolah, so be prepared for more.
In fact, F10 and F11 is already lined up.
Just remember, in the beautiful world of Fast and Furious, ANYTHING can happen.
If you enjoyed this, catch part 3.
