[Part 1 of 2] What is amazing about Apple’s $3 Trillion market cap?

Apple is the first and only company to be ever worth 3 Trillion dollars.

The first reason is that:

It. Is. Simply. Astounding.

Breath-taking even if you don’t follow the news or track stocks.

But I am certain if you have a smart phone, you would know Apple.

Apple is the first company in the world to hit the coveted US $1T valuation in 2018.

It hit the magical US $2T valuation in Aug 2020, in the midst of the pandemic.

On 3 Jan 2022, the first day of trading, Apple hit the unfathomable US $3T valuation.

No other company in history ever hit that valuation.

If you combine the bottom 184 companies in the S&P 500 list, Apple’s valuation will still be greater.

Let me break it down for you:

Apple was born in 1976 in a garage.

They IPO-ed in 1980.

It took them 42 years to hit 1T.

2 years to hit 2T.

And just a 16 months to surpass 3T.

It is the mother of all J-curve.

It is the rocket ship of all exponential growth in modern times.

This is the “fairytale” that business students hypothesised during classes.

Nobody quite saw it coming or at least expect it to arrive so suddenly.

They survived the dotcom bubble, the wall street crashes, the regulations and even Covid.

They survived Covid.

Covid killed some of the most well established brands in the world and yet it couldn’t faze Apple.

Their stock has jumped 41% since the beginning of 2021.

It goes beyond my comprehension.

I would even say that judging by the trajectory, Apple’s stock still has a long way to go.

Safe to say in 2021, Tiktok won the app of the year.

Bitcoin is still the undisputed king of crypto.

Vaccine is the word of the year.

Elon Musk is Time Person of the Year.

And Apple has easily earned the ‘company of the year’ title.
