The marvel of a F1 Steering wheel

It a lot more complicated than we normally think.

The highest paid F1 driver in 2021 is likely to be Lewis Hamilton, who will take home around $30m.

That is an awesome average of $1m per race.

I have always thought their jobs as a driver were “fun”, “easy” and “straight-forward”.

I mean, what do they do? Drive ridiculously light-weight skeletal race cars with 1000 horse power around a designated track for laps?

Sounds easy right?

Anything BUT.

Just take a look at the steering wheel of an F1 car!

There’s possibly nothing that you are familiar with and the drivers have to control all that in split seconds throughout the race.

The average joe will not be able to deal with the tremendous pressure, both psychological and physical, of handling an F1 car. The maneuvering needed, the dexterity of the controls, the sheer amount of calculations and the insane flurry of speeds one has to deal with.

Oh did I mention if you are not going fast enough (really, really fast), the brakes won’t work and the next cornering will be the last one you ever did in your life.

So its really complicated.

I have grown to respect F1 drivers now.

They train hard and take unbelievable risks for a sport they love.
