What is so wrong about Salt Bae feeding a minister gold-plated steaks?

Ever wanted to be hand-fed by the Salt Bae himself?

A Communist Delegation Went to Karl Marx’s Grave, Then Were Fed Gold Steak by Salt Bae”

I laughed so hard at this headline, I might have given myself a hernia.

It was so funny, I thought it was an exaggeration.

Thanks to Google, I discovered it was not a joke.

Basically a Vietnamese minister attending COP26 climate conference decided it would be a good idea to dine at one of the most expensive restaurants in London and film it for social media.

Ok to be fair, it was the Insta-famous chef Nusret Gokce who posted it on his Instagram account.

And to be honest, the minister could have paid for the meal using his own cash instead.

Or the meal could have been paid for by someone else.

But hey it is 2021 and the Internet is judge, jury and executioner.

As a minister, To Lam’s official wage is $600 to $800 a month.

A proper gold-covered steak at Salt Bae’s restaurant cost between $1,000 to $2,000 easy.

Gold steaks starts at $1,000 at Salt Bae’s restaurants.

In what dynasty or fantasy would any minister from any country do such a thing?

And let it get filmed and put on the internet?

What age are we living in?

Aren’t you aware that what goes on the internet will stay there FOREVER?

It is as funny as it is outlandish.

Perhaps it is just the imagery connected to a public, political minister with his mouth wide open as Salt Bae artistically lowers a slice of gold-plated steak into his jaws.

Then again who pays $2,000 for the steaks at Salt Bae and NOT want to get fed by the man himself?

It is all part of the experience!

Perhaps.

But those two things don’t go well together in the eyes of the ordinary netizen who are just hungry for controversy and trouble.

Some would say a high-ranking public servant should never splurge on luxury restaurants.

Some would say it is perfectly fine if he was being treated.

Others would say the negative repercussions of being caught on video and being spurned on the internet is too risky.

So then the question needs to be asked:

When is it EVER appropriate for a high-ranking minister to dine at a very expensive restaurant?
