I used to think marketing was talking about “me”.
You know, the 4Ps, product, place, promotion and price.
How good MY product is, why its a good price and what an awesome promo blah blah.
Years in, I realized great marketing is talking about what people want to perceive of me.
Now, I finally realized that awesome marketing is about discovering what people really want and positioning your product/services to their wants.
The best marketers are the ones who keep their customers’ real needs in mind and use all possible industry knowledge they have at their disposal to promote products or services in an engaging way.
It’s not just talk about how wonderful your product is, it’s showing them why they should buy it too!
