Why should we dictate what women wear for sports?

I never thought this was a problem before, but I was wrong. Such issues have been plaguing women since the beginning of time.

Women are always being told what to do and what not to do.

In the past, they weren’t allowed to vote, eat first, always having to serve the husband hand and foot, and in some cultures, they are lowly regarded because they are “given” away to other families when they marry.

Come on fellas, its 2021.

We are well into the 21st century and women rights have come a long way.

Stop it with the dumb rules and regulatory stiffness that was simply inherited from the past.

It is not a respect of old traditions, but a blatant show of stupidity and disregard of the human spirit.

The Germans wore full length unitards to compete at the Tokyo Olympics Gymnastics.

The Norwegian women’s Beach Handball team was fined when they wore shorts instead of the mandatory bikini bottoms.

The examples goes on.

I am certain they had good reasons to design such rules in the past.

But by golly, that was decades ago, rules were made to ensure fairness, equality and preservation of the spirit of the sport.

We have to adapt to the times and stop telling women what to do.

Think about it, it makes no sense whatsoever that the guys in the same beach handball event can wear shorts and the women can’t.

So long as the women aren’t committing a felony or hiding a weapons under the shorts, it is safe to say that there is nothing wrong with that right.

I hate dumb rules and lame red-tape when I see it.

Which reminds me.

Did you know, for all the guys serving the nation and having to go back for their annual IPPT (Individual Physical Proficiency Test), you cannot wear long sports tights to do the test?

Yup. Strange but true.

I was rejected 3 times on 3 serrate occasions.

Olympic athletes, medalists, sportsman, students, kids and practical my grandparents are wearing it for daily activities.

But the army says it is disallowed for fear of “heat exhaustion”.

They claim it traps heat and there is a danger we will overheat and get into serious medical complications while doing the test.

Hey, that’s exactly what activewear and sports tights does, it traps some heat and keep the muscles warm and conditioned, improving blood flow and performance.

Smells more like a backward rule that they implemented years ago, but since then technology and lifestyles have changed so much.

We are literally training in the sports tights daily and it is far more breathable than before.

Did they even bother thinking through that obscure rule?

Oh but if the tights are short, its fine. No problem at all.

Have a nice day!
