Will Smith is the only person to ever win the Oscars Best Actor and slap the host.
I know you didn’t watch the Oscars so let me summarise it for you.
A bunch of extremely rich actors won a bunch of awards given out by a haute-couture society of connoisseurs who awards films for a living.
And then Will Smith smacked Chris Rock.
Oh and Will won the Oscars for Best Actor right after.
It was surreal and shocking.
He literally just waltzed up on stage unannounced and unprovoked.
Chris Rock even leaned in towards Will as if expecting him to whisper something into his ears.
Nope.
Cuz that would have been a boring Oscars.
Will seemed calm right to the point of standing in front of Chris, and delivered a huge slap with his right hand.
That was the same hand that smacked aliens in Men in Black!
Was it right?
Who knows.
Was it entertaining.
You bet.
Every news and social media channel was buzzing about it.
Nobody could tell you who won what at the Oscars, but everyone knew Will slapped the daylights out of Chris that night.
Apparently Chris, a comedian, made a joke about Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
She was bald because of alopecia.
“Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition characterized by rapid hair loss in the scalp, eyebrows, and eyelashes”
Chris said: “Jada, I love ya. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it,”
Comedians joke a lot.
That is what they do for a living.
Slapping Chris was really uncalled for and so unprofessional on so many levels.
Will Smith is a legendary actor and an incredible talent.
But this is a little too much.
This crossed a line.
You can’t assault someone over a verbal joke.
You can’t hit someone on live broadcast and then claim it is to “protect” your family.
If that were possible, many criminals in jail right now would have been wrongly imprisoned.
Or perhaps it was all faked for added drama?
Perhaps Chris was in on it?
Perhaps Will already planned on doing it?
Either way, major props to Chris Rock for NOT retaliating or being snide about it after.
He took it like a man and was so mature about it.
Everyone is talking about Will and how hurt he must have been.
Yo, what about the man Will assaulted physically?
End of the day, learn to control your emotions and not have an outburst in public.
You might have “righted” a wrong now, but that stuff stays on the internet forever.
It will stain your legacy and overwrite all the good things you have ever done.
Having a long term view is critical in life, work, startups and yes, even crypto.
