Nigeria beat USA 90 to 87

If I say Bonsai, you think Japan.

If I say Great wall, you think China.

If I say Basketball, you think USA.

Now that the Olympics are coming up, we know certain countries will have their pet games.

There is no way anyone could defeat the legendary USA Basketball team, filled with NBA elites right?

WRONG.

Nigeria just beat the U.S. 90–87 on Saturday night. It a show-stopping shocker.

I can’t name you one player I am even familiar with in the Nigerian team, no offense to them. They played their hearts out and performed so well.

Team USA had Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Damian Lillard, Kevin Love and so many other All-stars.

These are elite-level players that are playing in a league that is literally head and shoulders above every other league.

Honestly just one of Durant should have been sufficient.

Well, that is what we all thought.

Apparently not.

We forgot that basketball is a team sport.

No amount of individual greatness can outrun, outplay, outscore a unified team playing as one.

Team work makes the dream work.

Kudos to all the Nigerian players, coaches and fans. It is a sweet win for the records.

Maybe it was just an exhibition, no one was taking it seriously, the next one will be better.

Maybe, like every other team, these A players and team leaders are all thrown in and expected to work together.

Give them time.

Then I saw the news that Team USA just lost to Australia 83–91.

I have no words for that.
